Why is Advising Others to Recite Amitabha’s Name Said to be Extraordinarily Meritorious?

Reciting Amitabha’s name for rebirth in the Land of Ultimate Bliss is showing great compassion toward oneself; likewise, encouraging others to do so is showing great compassion toward them.  Those who encourage others truly know how to repay kindness, rendering their merit great beyond imagination.

“Kindness” means “giving bliss”, which, in turn, means giving someone “the bliss of becoming a Buddha.”  “Compassion” means “removing suffering”, that is, suffering from being within the six realms of samsara.  Therefore, the only way to remove the suffering of the six realms and give the bliss of becoming a Buddha is the recitation of Amitabha’s name.  Doesn’t that mean that this Dharma path is of great compassion and vow-power?

Teaching people to recite Amitabha’s name as a means of deliverance is extraordinarily meritorious and displays great compassion and wisdom.  Why is this so?  Because once someone is born in the Land of Ultimate Bliss, he will not only be forever free of the six realms of samsara but also attain Buddhahood.  What can be more compassionate and wiser than this?  Of course, to be able to exclusively recite Amitabha’s name and desire rebirth in the Land of Ultimate Bliss, the person must have good roots and merits in the first place.
